Music, threads and laughs

1992 was when I met Your Dad/ Burkey/Paul.  I was bunking off college (dont copy Ben and Betsy lol) and stumbled on a pub called the Pennant. That pub would serve to leave me with some of my best memories of your dad. He was so friendly, kind, funny, would help you out when in need, an all rounder. He tried to keep the boys in line and led them as the Pennant football team manager, serious when needed trying to shape them into a real team but let's face it, they just wanted to run about like loons. After Sunday match off to the pub few drinks then get ready for the regular sunday night disco. Sometimes your dad would have a go with being a DJ, he was good, he loved music, he knew every song, all the words which fast forward 11years later on my wedding day your dad was my husband to be Stewart's bestman and saved the day finding the wedding march knowing it by name when even the registrar didnt, he saved the day got the song ready for when i walked down the aisle, he done his bestman duties to a tee giving the funniest speech ever (I have it on video when you're ready)

Paul Weller - Broken Stones

Alanis Morissette - One hand in my pocket

These two songs were anthems played at every houseparty we ever went to and disco attended. We never got Alanis Morisettes song in the right order but was always a laugh trying, listen to it then you'll understand.

Tuesday night was pub quiz night you'd want him in your team he was so clever, he knew some of the most obscure stuff, how he knew , god knows (we didnt have google back then lol) it was all logged in his head.

Your dad loved his clothes back in the day, never walked out without a shirt bought from Per Lui (his fav shop), hair perfect and a Sharpe pair of shoes (some questionable brogues lol). He was my shopping buddy (shhhhh dont tell anyone he loved to shop lol) and he loved going to the cinema catching a flick. When Stewart and I moved into our first home we had a fancy dress party. Your dad rocked up in a silver skintight onesie and white wig it was hilarious he just liked making people laugh and enjoyed life!

I have so many memories I could be here forever.

I guess what I'm trying to say is your dad was a genuine diamond. He has left an imprint on every person who met him, take the funny Burkey away and you had a caring, kind, intelligent man who will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Xxx
